Softly Snapping

For as long as I can remember, snapper fishing in PPB has been about pilchards, 4500 Bait Runners and 7kg line. This is changing as a new type of snapper angler emerges. Over the last 6 years a handful of dedicated soft plastic anglers have been pounding down the doors of convention, developing and refining a new fishing style; one that revolves around thin lines and smelly soft plastic lures.

TACKLE

There are plenty of suitable rods and reels on the market for catching snapper on plastics. This's not to say that you can’t use what you already have but as with most things, having the right tools for the job will turn your finger painting into a Picasso! So if you’re going to tackle up this season for some snapper action, you might want to check some of this gear out...
